Kristan is a passionate high school math teacher who seeks to design student-centered lessons where student agency and exploration drive classroom conversations and the discovery of math concepts. Kristan loves presenting at state and local conferences and also provides support and training in her district as a site and district tech coach. She is the 2022 Riverside County Teacher of the Year, a 2022 CA Teacher of the Year finalist, and serves the state of CA as CTA Ambassador to CA Math Council. She was also featured as a high school math teacher in the State of CA Digital Learning Standards and Guidance document and video series.

Dominic has taught Middle and High School for 16 years. He holds a BA in Integrated Social Studies, an MA in Curriculum and Instruction as well as an MED in Education Leadership. He began his teaching career in a diverse high needs community before later serving as Dean of Students and Principal. After returning to the classroom, Dominic taught Junior High before joining Perrysburg High School, where he is part of a teaching team that regularly helps students earn among the highest passing rates in Ohio state testing. His instruction focuses on providing hands-on learning experiences centered around promoting engaging and active learning opportunities for students. In addition to teaching, Dominic enjoys serving on various district wide leadership teams and speaking at educational conferences designed to help boost student engagement and build classroom culture.

This show Jon is joined by Dr. Scott McLeod, one of the nation’s leading experts on P-12 school leadership, deeper learning, technology, and innovation. He is on a mission to make students’ day-to-day learning less boring and more meaningful and relevant. He is the Founding Director of the UCEA Center for the Advanced Study of Technology Leadership in Education (CASTLE), the only university center in the U.S. dedicated to the technology needs of school administrators, and is the co-creator of the wildly popular video series, Did You Know? (Shift Happens). He also is the co-creator of the 4 Shifts Protocol for lesson/unit redesign and the founder of both the annual Iowa 1:1 Institute and EdCampIowa.
Scott has worked with hundreds of schools, districts, universities, and other organizations and has received numerous awards for his technology leadership work, including the 2016 Award for Outstanding Leadership from the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). Scott blogs about leadership and innovation at Dangerously Irrelevant and is a frequent keynote speaker and workshop facilitator at regional, state, national, and international conferences. Scott also hosts two podcasts, LeaderTalk and Redesigning for Deeper Learning.
Scott currently serves as a Getting Smart New Pathways Fellow, ISTE Community Leader, InnEdCO Ambassador, and on NAESP’s Professional Learning Advisory Council. He has written or edited 4 books and 170 articles and other publications, and is one of the most visible education professors in the United States. In Spring 2023 he is road tripping while on sabbatical to explore what deeper learning looks like in elementary and middle schools.
